Topping-out ceremony for the SKY residential high-rise

The SKY residential high-rise in Dübendorf has reached a significant milestone, in the form of the topping-out ceremony. In total, 150 apartments along with commercial space are scheduled for completion in 2027, directly adjacent to Stettbach railway station. The project is a prime example of PUBLICA’s long-term real estate strategy.

SKY is part of PUBLICA’s direct real estate investments. As the Federal Pension Fund, PUBLICA invests long-term in real estate, generating a stable income to support active members. At the same time, it contributes to the development of attractive residential sites in Switzerland.

The location in Dübendorf is ideal: with direct links to public transport as well as proximity to shops, schools and leisure facilities, it is a very well situated place to live and work. In addition to 150 apartments comprising between 1.5 and 5.5 rooms, there will be around 450 m2 of commercial space on the ground floor, along with some 300 bike spaces and underground parking for almost 70 cars.

Sustainability is central to the project: the building will be SNBS Gold certified, heated by a geothermal heat pump and passively cooled by means of free cooling. The project thus meets high standards in terms of energy efficiency and sustainable construction.

«With SKY, we’re creating more homes at an exceptionally well connected location, while investing our active members’ retirement assets responsibly. Projects like this combine sustainable urban development with our mandate to generate stable income for occupational pensions.»

Christoph Gerber

PUBLICA is investing more than CHF 100 million in the project. It is scheduled for completion in spring 2027, with the first apartments set to be advertised after the summer holidays: www.sky-living.ch

PUBLICA’s real estate portfolio currently comprises 89 properties and three new-build projects at over 50 locations in Switzerland, with an investment volume of CHF 4.1 billion. The portfolio is being selectively enhanced and expanded. PUBLICA continually reviews investment opportunities in German- and French-speaking Switzerland that align with its long-term strategic asset allocation.
